This is the fourth, and last book in a series. I liked the first one quite a bit but then the second and third seemed to lose some of the goodness of the first. The first was a relatively self-contained story, and in the next two it felt like the author was throwing in too many new elements in order to expand the scope of the story.

In this last book, however, I think she hit a sweet spot and got things just right. This was by far the best written book of the series, without any of the distractions of the middle two.
