Iron Sunrise

This is the sequel to Stross' Singularity Sky. I actually liked this one quite a bit more than Singularity Sky. I think there's a couple reasons for this.
First, it has a bigger scale, spanning multiple locations across the galaxy. Second, it happens in places that feel more like the core of the universe, whereas Singularity Sky is basically set in a backwater. Third, I enjoyed the new characters introduced in this novel, particularly the first one we meet, Wednesday. In the first novel, the two main characters were both extremely competent, basically superior to anyone around them. This makes for a more satirical novel, but you don't actually worry about these characters too much. In Iron Sunrise many of the characters are not such superheros, and the bad guys are much more dangerous, which ups the ante.
Stross has a bunch of other books that have all been released recently or will be released soon, and I'm sure I'll be picking them up in time.
